R&D
INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY AT THE SERVICE OF CONSTRUCTION
At Bilba, we apply R&D through three key pillars to drive the collaborative methodology and promote a more equitable, transparent, and balanced sector.

WE ADD VALUE THROUGH INNOVATION
Internally
To improve internal processes and thereby achieve greater agility.
Towards our client
In collaboration with the client, improving the management of each project.
Towards society
Through the search for new solutions that help to build faster and more sustainably to reduce the lack of affordable housing.
We have an R&D team with extensive experience and knowledge in applying new technologies and innovative construction methods.
They ensure we stay up-to-date and help the rest of the team implement methodologies:
Methodology
We are immersed in an era of change and innovation. The implementation of technological advances is enabling us to build more sustainable and efficient buildings, optimizing the use of human and material resources to achieve better projects.

BIM Methodology
A DIGITAL INFORMATION MODEL IN OUR PROJECTS
Using the BIM methodology in our projects allows us to optimize resources, improve planning, and anticipate potential inconsistencies on-site, ensuring more efficient execution.
- Implemented in more than 85% of our collaborative projects.
- Increases efficiency in resource management and planning.
- Facilitates procurement management and reduces operational costs.
With the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology, we have a digital model of the project that allows us to coordinate all phases of design, construction, and operation. This ensures that everyone involved in the project works with the same information, updated in real-time, which reduces errors and increases efficiency. Furthermore, BIM facilitates procurement management and reduces operational costs by optimizing the use of materials and resources. Thanks to BIM, we ensure greater transparency and traceability at each stage of the project.
LEAN construction
WE ADD VALUE THROUGH INNOVATION
Methodology focused on maximizing productivity and reducing waste.
- More efficient and sustainable processes.
- Optimization of material use and execution times.
Lean Construction is a methodology that allows for eliminating waste, optimizing resource utilization, and improving efficiency in the execution of each project phase. Through precise planning and continuous improvement, we ensure that deadlines are met and budgets are adhered to. Sustainability is one of the pillars of this methodology, as it promotes the efficient use of materials and waste reduction, which not only improves project quality but also reduces environmental impact.
IPD - Integrated Project Delivery
ADDING GREATER VALUE TO EACH PROJECT
We foster the collaboration and talent of all project stakeholders to optimize costs, schedules, and quality in each phase. We are committed to collective intelligence, transparency, and a common goal that ensures the viability and success of each project.
IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) is a collaborative methodology that encourages the active participation of all project stakeholders from the initial phase, ensuring that everyone works towards the same goal: delivering successful projects. By integrating all aspects of the project, from design to execution, resources are optimized, risks are reduced, and the quality of the final result is improved. At Bilba, we adopt IPD to offer our clients faster, more efficient, and cost-effective projects.
SHARED BENEFITS OF IPD IMPLEMENTATION
Risk reduction in project planning and execution.
Thanks to early collaboration and joint planning by all project stakeholders, risks are identified and mitigated from the early stages, ensuring a smoother execution without setbacks.
Greater efficiency in costs and delivery times.
The integration of teams and processes in IPD optimizes resource use and improves coordination, resulting in the reduction of unforeseen costs and adherence to delivery schedules.
Increased quality in the final project result.
Through teamwork from the outset and sharing a common goal, project quality is enhanced throughout all phases, ensuring the final product meets expectations and the highest standards.
Greater client satisfaction by ensuring project viability.
With IPD, we ensure greater alignment between teams and the client, making it possible to tackle any challenge more efficiently and ensuring the project is completed within budget and the agreed timeframe.

Bilba Chair in Advanced Industrialization
Together with the University of Málaga and its School of Architecture, we promote applied research in industrialization and new construction technologies. This commitment to innovation allows us to develop advanced solutions that optimize building and improve sustainability in the sector.
NEW WAYS OF BUILDING: INDUSTRIALIZATION AND DFMA
EFFICIENT MANAGEMENT IN MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLY
Industrialization and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) allow optimization of each phase of the construction process, reducing times, minimizing waste, and ensuring precision in each project.
Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) significantly reduces production and assembly times for projects, resulting in resource optimization. This approach not only improves efficiency but also ensures a cleaner and safer process, minimizing operational risks. At Bilba, we have integrated DfMA into all our projects, which allows us to deliver high-quality, environmentally friendly results, ensuring precision in each phase of construction.
